The Marquette University High School Hilltoppers, are proud to nominate Joe Llaurado for the 2011-12 American Family Insurance/WHCA Mr. Hockey Award. Joe has excelled both on-ice and off-ice as a member of the Hilltoppers Hockey Team the past 3 seasons. To date, Joe’s stats are impressive; 69 games played, 68 goals, 42 assists, 110 points. Joe was a member of the All-State Honorable Mention Team as a Junior. He also played for Team Wisconsin U-16’s as a Junior, as well as Team Wisconsin U-18’s this season. Joe plays on the Hilltopper Rugby Team, and played Football as a Freshman.
His academic achievements at Marquette have also been very impressive. Joe maintains a 3.7 GPA, and has been on the Honor Roll all 4 years. Joe also has been an Academic Support Tutor at MUHS. Joe is looking forward to his Post High School Education opportunities. He has been accepted for admission at the following Universities; UW-Madison, Marquette, Denver, St. Louis, and Xavier.
As a Hilltopper, Joe has volunteered many hours of his time, giving back to the sport the loves, as well as the local community. He volunteers every summer at various local youth hockey camps, he is involved in the St. Dominic’s School High Interest Days, and also has served with the Growing Power Community Food Center in Milwaukee.
